Saw a 2013 model the other day in the parking lot. I thought it was an old bike that was restored at first. Pretty cool.

That's my favorite part of it, I love the modern bikes that look retro, these and Royal Enfields especially.

Just...no. The Urals are such POSs. Like the old bimmers with out the quality control, and they weigh a freaking ton, without the sidecar. They're 50 year old tech that you're paying superbike prices for. That said, the sidecars are kind of fun.

I like 50 year old tech tho. :P

a buddy of mine has a Ural. it eats driveshafts like candy and he's not handy with a wrench. also, the parts have to come from russia so they take forever and cost a fortune.
crack pipe.
if you DO end of buying it though, Storm is a great guy to buy it from. He knows Ural better than probably anybody in the US and has a good relationship w/ them.

this isn't a modern bike. it's old ass technology that the russians are still building.

As a former Alfa and Land Rover owner, unreliable vehicles simultaneously scream "run away!" and "buy me now!" when I look at them. My wife loooooves this personality trait...probably.

Well, I tend to think of modern in terms of when it was built, rather than the tech involved.

That brake is modern!

That doesn't make it worth $9000 for a used one. To me.

I dunno if it's because I'm more used to cars, and so all bikes seem cheap, but 9 grand doesn't bother me that much on this. Or at least, it wouldn't if I HAD 9 grand. Another big factor, for me anyway, is the look at me factor. I love driving a vehicle that gets noticed. Hence my neon green safari striped Land Rover Discovery, my metallic orange Mazda, and my awesome bicycle with a tiny two stroke on it, capable of a whopping 45 mph. (note, the bike gets the most looks and questions, go figure.)

heartbroken. I was about to say crack pipe - you can get a sorted out dnepr for much less from http://www.vostokmotors.com/ but apparently they closed months ago. :(
